Centennial Park Conservancy is the nonprofit support organization for Centennial Park and the Parthenon. We partner with Metro Parks to sustain the vibrancy of this thriving public space and create opportunities for the community to support the ongoing needs of the Park.

  • Centennial Park Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with Nashville’s Metro Parks to support Centennial Park and the Parthenon. The organization underwrites and presents a variety of enriching programs that make a widespread imprint on the Nashville community and our visitors.

    Key programs include Nashville Parthenon exhibition and educational initiatives, Musicians Corner, Kidsville, and Nashville Earth Day, in addition to underwriting art exhibitions and educational programming at the Parthenon. Centennial Park Conservancy is also partnering with Metro Parks on the Centennial Park Revitalization, a multi-phase transformation of the park that will preserve and enhance Nashville’s central park to better serve current and future generations.

    Sustaining the vibrancy of this cherished urban oasis requires dedicated individuals, corporations, and foundations to partner with us and Metro Parks to ensure Centennial Park and Parthenon are continually preserved and revitalized to meet the growing needs of Nashville residents and visitors both today and in the future.

    Donors help advance these areas of Centennial Park:

    1. Public Green Space

    • We collaborate with Metro Parks to identify, fund, and address ongoing revitalization projects as well as maintenance and preservation needs in Centennial Park, thereby improving the community green space for present and future generations.

    2. Cultural Arts

    • We fund compelling art exhibitions, lectures, and performances in the Parthenon museum for 330K visitors each year, and present free live music concerts at Musicians Corner for 100K people annually.

    3. Environment

    • We inspire positive environmental change at Nashville Earth Day, the city’s official Earth Day celebration, and fund many local sustainability projects including bees, trees, gardens, waterways, and nature conservation.

    4. Education

    • We support families by presenting 100+ free educational children’s events through Kidsville in Centennial Park. We also underwrite over 2,000 hours of Parthenon educational programming and STEAM tours for 360+ schools each year. 

  • The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of facilities and programs throughout Davidson County including Centennial Park and its cultural institutions: the Parthenon, Centennial Art Center, and Centennial Performing Art Studios. Centennial Park Conservancy serves to support these public spaces through cultural and educational activations and by raising funds to ensure they are sustained and accessible to all. Currently, Metro Parks oversees 15,114 acres of open space, including 184 parks and 107 miles of greenways. It is the department’s mission to sustainably and equitably provide everyone in Nashville with an inviting network of parks and greenways that offer health, wellness and quality of life through recreation, conservation and community.

  • Not entirely. In order to best preserve and revitalize Centennial Park and the Parthenon, Centennial Park Conservancy and Metro Parks collaborate in a public-private partnership to fill gaps in funding. Through individual, corporate, and foundation philanthropic giving opportunities, the Park is able to retain its beauty and enhance amenities that serve the public.

  • Yes! Centennial Park Conservancy members receive free admission to the Parthenon and a host of other benefits. To learn more about our membership levels, please visit our membership site. We offer a Friend Membership for $25 for students, seniors, teachers, and military.
