The Conservancy for the Parthenon and Centennial Park hosted its first annual black tie fundraiser on November 6, 2010.  The event took place in Nashville’s most memorable event venue, the Parthenon.  Emme Nelson Baxter and Demetria Kalodimos chaired the Gala, with this year's theme being Designs in Black and White.  Clare Armistead served as the Honorary Chair.  The Gala turned out to be a fabulous event, with some unique entertainment.

Nashville photographer Juan Pont Lezica is an internationally-known artist with more than 20 years experience.  His works span a wide variety of genres – from album covers, magazines and billboards, to international fashion and commercial photography.  At the Gala, he was available to make one-of-a-kind photographs of guests.  It was a unique opportunity for patrons to purchase a piece of art of themselves!

Emmy Award-winner Brian Hull is renowned for bringing to fruition compelling original ideas with arresting visual style.  Brian has extensive international experience in the thriving European puppet markets and directs the troupe of puppeteers that perform weekly at the Nashville Public Library.  Brian is also in his 6th season of writing and directing shows for Dollywood and the Imagination Library.  His original piece, developed exclusively for this gala, was extraordinary.

All together, the gala was far more than a fundraising dinner.  Nashville has been buzzing, and we're already planning for next year!
